Microplastics in Lake Geneva sediments

Plastics are one of the pollutants whose effects on the functioning of ecosystems are still poorly understood. In this context, sediments can shed light on the evolution of the presence of these unwanted contaminants in the environment. Two projects aim at reconstructing the history of contamination of Lake Geneva and its watershed by microplastics by studying sediments at two sites, Pully and the LéXPLORE platform, and the bay of Vidy.
