Justin Voorhees

Justin is a Scientific Collaborator at the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE), where he works with FPSE and InZone as Pedagogical Coordinator of the Certificate of Open Studies (COS) in Education in Emergencies, including the 2024–2025 iteration in Niger and future iterations under development. He also serves as lead evaluator for the COS programmes in Community Health and Education in Emergencies. An experienced educator and researcher with 15 years of international experience across secondary, adult, and higher education, he specialises in refugee education and education in fragile contexts and in designing experiential learning in face-to-face, hybrid, and online contexts. He previously coordinated the UNIGE MAS/DAS programmes in International Education and Research and worked as a consultant with the Global University Academy (GUA), where he co-led the development of its Theory of Change and Model of Action and continues to contribute through his current role. In parallel, he teaches English and Humanities at the International School of Geneva (Ecolint). Justin is currently pursuing a PhD at the United Nations University for Peace, with research focused on high-quality higher and non-formal education opportunities in fragile contexts in the Global South.
