Open Research Data – Funded projects
In line with the National Strategy dedicated to Open Science and Open Research Data (ORD), the University of Geneva's Open Science Charter, the Institutional Policy on Research Data Management and the 2025-2028 Digital Strategy, UNIGE aims to support and encourage its researchers in adopting and implementing best practices in Research Data Management and and Open Research Data (RDM and ORD). This effort involves developing sustainable skills and resources to apply the FAIR principles, disseminate and promote data and research outputs, manage rights and accessibility and comply with relevant standards. To support researchers in this often time- and resource-intensive process, the institution opened a special dedicated incentive fund for the 2025-2026 period. This fund was designed to support the launch of ORD-related initiatives across all disciplines.
The call for projects received 16 submissions at the start of the 2025 autumn term. Of these, 11 were selected by the Data Stewardship Project Steering Committee and later endorsed by the Open Science Committee in November 2025. These projects will receive support to further develop ideas that promote open research..
