Psychological consultation

Feeling anxious to the point where it affects your daily life, your studies or your relationships? Have you been through a difficult experience and are struggling to move forward? Do you feel like you can no longer function as you used to? A psychological consultation can help you through these moments.

Asking for help takes courage. It is a strength, not a weakness.

How can a psychologist help you?

  • Better understand your situation and the inner resources you have to feel better
  • Overcome a depressive episode or prevent burnout
  • Manage your stress or anxiety more effectively
  • Assert yourself more easily in your relationships
  • Learn to regulate your emotions
  • Come to terms with a difficult past experience
  • Navigate a breakup, bereavement or period of transition
  • Improve your friendships, romantic or family relationships
  • Overcome a behavioural addiction or substance dependency (cannabis, alcohol…)

What does a psychological consultation involve?

  1. Initial assessment session — a SSE psychologist takes the time to understand your situation and what you are looking for.
  2. Joint decision — together, you decide on the next steps: either a therapeutic follow-up at the Student Health Service (SSE), or a referral to external resources.
  3. Psychotherapeutic follow-up — up to 20 sessions with an SSE psychotherapist, depending on your situation. As the number of follow-up places is limited, priority is given to students experiencing financial difficulties and/or without adequate insurance coverage.
