Application process

For UNIGE students

Once you have looked through the course offer and chosen the course(s) you wish to take, here are the steps to apply:

Prepare your application in advance and complete the steps below before the application deadline of the partner university. Please note that the number of seats available in the courses is often limited.

Careful! Partner universities don't have all the same academic calendars. Application deadlines therefore  vary from one host university to another. Please ensure you meet these deadlines

Verify that:

  1. You are registered at the UNIGE at the time of the exchange;
  2. You meet the admission requirements for the course (language level, study level, academic prerequisites, etc.);
  3. The course is compatible with your study programme (timetable and workload). Be aware: online courses take the same amount of time as regular courses. Please note that some courses are taught at a specific time (information given in the course description). Also check the date of the exam - the semesters at the partner institutions are not necessarily aligned with the UNIGE ones.

Contact your academic advisor in your faculty to ask about the possibility of recognising the credits of Virtual Exchange courses in your study programme.

Please note that you are responsible for informing yourself in advance and obtaining approval from your faculty before registering. In order for credits to be recognised, you will be asked to provide a proof of approval from your faculty when you register (see below).

At the end of your Virtual Exchange, please send the transcript of records issued by the partner university to your academic advisor at UNIGE for validation and recognition of the credits in your curriculum.

Please follow the steps outlined below.
