Gabriel is Head of the Communication Department at the Centre for Continuing and Distance Education. He joined the Centre in January 2022 and is currently responsible for the development and implementation of the new communication strategy of the CFCD.

Previously, Gabriel managed public affairs at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he worked to promote sport as an enabler of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and peace. Of Latin American origin, he worked for several years in South America, where he was Head of Communication at the British Embassy in Lima, Peru, among other positions. Prior to this, he held many roles in International Geneva, including External Relations Manager at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and Research Assistant at the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF).

Gabriel obtained a Master's degree in International Studies with a specialisation in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva) in 2008. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Middlebury College (USA).
