Mr. Henry PeterProfessor at UNIGE’s Faculty of Law and Head of the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy

Henry Peter is a full Professor at the Faculty of Law and Head of the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy of the University of Geneva (GCP). Before taking that responsibility, he was head of the Faculty of Law’s commercial law department between 2006 and 2017. For more than 25 years, his teaching and many publications (more than 120) focused on the structure and governance of companies, as well as on their social responsibility. In 2014 he launched the "Philanthropy Series" at the University of Geneva. He is a member of several organisations dealing with governance and ethical issues, and sits on several boards of directors of private companies and on foundations boards. Because of his expertise, he is often called upon to act as a member of public or association bodies (e.g., Swiss Takeover Board, Sanctions Commission of the SIX Swiss Exchange, disciplinary chamber in charge of doping cases of the Swiss Olympic Association, Audit Committee of the University of Geneva, Ethics Committee of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), or as arbitrator in commercial or sporting disputes.
