The programme in Greek language and literature covers the period from the end of the 2nd millennium BC to the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Students will delve into ancient Greek thinking by studying related texts and their context. In addition to the great authors and genres (Homer, lyrical poetry, tragedy, comedy, rhetoric and philosophy), students will learn about Ancient Greek writing techniques, Mycenian Greek and comparative grammar, and will also study literary and documentary papyrus scripts and Byzantine literature.
