The Spanish Unit offers classes in Spanish literature spanning 25 countries, from the Middle Ages to the present day. The programme focuses on the Golden Age, cultural production in the post-Civil-War period, and the rise of Latin American literature. Intense training is also provided in both diachronic and synchronic Spanish linguistics. Students interested in a language-teaching career can also take classes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. In addition, classes are available on the cultural role of cinema and popular music in the Hispanic world.

Except for disciplines involving modern languages (Spanish, Italian, English and German), where courses are offered in the relevant language.
