The Team
- Prof. Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel, Digital Humanities Chair, director of the Department of Digital Humanities, Faculté des Lettres.

Since the early 2000s, Prof. Joyeux-Prunal has contributed to the globalization of art history and cultural studies through digital, global, social, and collective approaches. She has led international research teams on artistic and visual globalization, notably through Artlas and Visual Contagions/Explore, digital platforms that facilitate the analysis of large-scale image and data collections. She is the author of a trilogy on the social and global history of the avant-gardes. Since joining the University of Geneva in 2019, she has developed interdisciplinary teaching and research in digital humanities and, since 2022, has co-directed the CUSO doctoral program in digital humanities, which she helped establish. She is currently Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, overseeing digital infrastructure, libraries, and buildings. She is also active in public outreach through conferences, media appearances, and exhibitions exploring images, globalization, and artificial intelligence.
- Dr. Radu Suciu, Senior Research Associate, Faculté des lettres / Faculté de Médecine.

From 2014 to 2021, Dr. Suciu co-directed the Bodmer Lab, a collaborative Digital Humanities project developed by the University of Geneva and the Martin Bodmer Foundation. He played a central role in its development, from fundraising and project planning to the management of interdisciplinary teams bringing together researchers in the humanities and computer science, librarians, curators, book specialists, conservators, photographers, and students. Under his supervision, the project established a large-scale digitisation and research platform for rare books and manuscripts, with more than 200,000 pages now accessible online. He also contributed to the development of its interoperable digital infrastructure, including the adoption of IIIF and other standards in Digital Humanities and online museography. From 2013 to 2017, he coordinated the University of Geneva’s interdisciplinary Language and Communication Thematic Network, fostering collaboration across faculties and supporting the development of new research projects. He has also co-curated exhibitions at the Martin Bodmer Foundation and the University of Fribourg, combining scholarly research, digital technologies, and innovative forms of public engagement.
- Prof. Marie Theres Stauffer, Architecture History, Faculté des Lettres.
- Prof. Svyatoslav Voloshynovskyy, Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences.
- Prof. Katarzyna Wac, Qualify of Life Lab & mQoL Living Lab, GSEM

Her research focuses on personalised digital health, developing computational methods to assess and predict individuals’ physical and psychological health through smartphone and wearable data. Her work on digital biomarkers uses advanced machine learning and deep learning to study outcomes such as sleep, physical activity, stress, anxiety, depression, and sexual health in everyday life. She has also developed PeerMA, a novel method that complements self-reported health assessments by leveraging information from individuals’ social networks in a privacy-preserving manner. Her research is supported by the mQoL Living Lab, a large-scale, user-engaged platform for mobile crowd-sensing and longitudinal analysis of digital biomarkers, which has engaged more than 1,000 users and collected billions of data points. Her work combines fundamental research with technology transfer and clinical applications, including collaborations with Geneva University Hospitals, Stanford Medical Center, and pharmaceutical partners. It has also contributed to international standards and to the development of digital health solutions, including the ACTIDOTE depression self-management app.
