Elena Patrizi holds a PhD summa cum laude in Law from the University of Geneva and is currently a Research Associate (Collaboratrice scientifique) at the Centre for Children’s Rights Studies, University of Geneva. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded a Doc.Mobility fellowship from the University of Geneva, which enabled her to spend six months as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of History, King’s College London.
She previously obtained a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Urbino, Italy, and an LL.M. in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, Switzerland.
Her doctoral research explored the emerging fields of children’s rights studies and transitional justice. From 2017 to 2023, she collaborated with Prof. Karl Hanson as a teaching assistant in the three courses of the Interdisciplinary Master’s in Children’s Rights. She also contributed as an assistant to the Geneva Summer School Children at the Heart of Human Rights (2017 and 2025) and to the Master of Advanced Studies in Children’s Rights (MCR).
