10 November 2016 - The Platform for International Water Law/Geneva Water Hub organise a Webinar on « Exploring the Concept of Water Security in Transboundary Water Resources Management » in partnership with DiploFoundation.

The Platform for International Water Law/Geneva Water Hub, in partnership with DiploFoundation, organise a Webinar on “Exploring the Concept of Water Security in Transboundary Water Resources Management” at the World Meteorological Organisation on the 10th of November 2016.

The Webinar is organized in the framework of the Distance Learning Course on «International Water Law & the Law of Transboundary Aquifers » offered by the Continuing Education and e-Learning Centre of the University of Geneva.

This event explores the concept of water security through the experience of two international practitioners working in the field of transboundary water resources management and cooperation. The analysis will be conducted from an inter-disciplinary perspective, taking into account the multiple facets of water security, including its economic, environmental and social aspects.

The speakers are: Ms. Angela Klauschen, Senior Network Officer and Focal Point for Transboundary Water Cooperation, Global Water Partnership (GWP) and Ms. Lesha Witmer, Senior Expert on Transboundary Cooperation and Gender, and Member of the Steering Committee of Women for Water Partnership.

Mr. François Münger. Manager of the Geneva Water Hub and Swiss Envoy for Water gives a Welcome Address.

Dr. Jovan Kurbalija, Founding Director of DiploFoundation and Head of the Geneva Internet Platform and Mara Tignino moderate the event.
