The Report of the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace presented in Central Asia

On the occasion of the ceremony celebrating the 25th years of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination of Central Asia (ICWC), Mr Yerlan Nysanbayev, Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Member of the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace (HLPWP), has presented the main recommendations of the Panel. 

The ceremony has taken place on the 23th and 24th of November 2017 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Representatives from governments, international organizations and academics have participated in the ceremony. Discussion topics included transboundary water cooperation, integrated water resources management (IWRM), the role of young water professionals, the need to enhance education on water issues, the financial and economic mechanisms for water management as well as the linkages between water and ecology.

On behalf of the Secretariat of the HLPWP, Mara Tignino presented on "Financial Mechanisms and Joint Water Infrastructure".
