Julien L. Michellod joined the Chair for Energy Efficiency at University of Geneva as assistant and Ph.D. student in June 2022. He completed an apprenticeship at the Interdisciplinary center for electron microscopy at EPFL and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering of renewable energies at HES-SO Valais/Wallis (Sion). He subsequently completed his Master’s degree in Environmental sciences at University of Geneva. His M.Sc. thesis dealt with social licensing for direct load control and Home energy management systems. In his doctoral research, he studies the role of positive energy districts in the energy transition.
