GSEM alumnus Nils Hryciuk designs an app to digitize and store receipts

With a belief that printing receipts are an ecological disaster, Nils Hryciuk, a 2018 Bachelor of Economics and Management graduate, created Elecit; an app to digitize and store receipts.

Launched in September 2021, the application allows customers to save their receipts on their mobile phones by scanning a QR-code in the store. Elecit integrates code into the point-of-sale systems of participating companies, which generates QR codes compatible with the application instead of paper receipts.

The application can be used without creating an account, so there is no tracking or storage of personal data. This differs from current practices where some businesses solicit the email addresses of their customers to send receipts and guarantees. In addition to the savings associated with printing on paper, businesses can benefit from the statistics provided by the program.

Nils Hryciuk says: "The desire to develop projects from scratch, to create a company, has always been present." Working alone at the start of this project made Nils aware of the importance of surrounding himself with the right people, and he has since been joined by two friends with complementary skills: Ammihud Josef and Martin Aillerie (another graduate of the GSEM’s Bachelor program).

In 2022, the team plans to implement their system in partner businesses and raise funds to continue the development of the application. Elecit's main goal? To be a catalyst for progressive and positive change based on three values: sustainability, innovation, and progress.
