After studying Literature and International Relations and gaining experience in the IO and NGO sector in Switzerland and abroad, Gerd Rothenberg joined UNIGE's International Affairs Department in 2010, where until 2018 he coordinated UNIGE's strategic partnerships.
From 2018 to 2024, Gerd Rothenberg worked with Vice-Rectors Micheline Louis-Courvoisier and then Céline Carrère, mainly in the fields of teaching and student life from a cross-functional perspective. Under Audrey Leuba's rectorship, he is responsible for issues relating to community life, sustainability and certain aspects of teaching.
