Short Bio

Johanna Brazard was educated at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS, Paris, France). She holds an Agrégation in Physical Sciences (major in Chemistry) and obtained in 2009 her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the École Normale Supérieure & Université Pierre et Marie Curie Pierre  (ENS & UPCM, Paris, France) under the supervision of Dr. Pascal Plaza. After post-doctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Paul F. Barbara and David A. Vanden Bout at the University of Texas at Austin (USA), she became a CNRS research scientist at the Francis Perrin Laboratory (CEA Saclay, France) in 2012. From 2014 to 2016, she was on sabbatical leave in the group of Assoc. Prof. Daniel B. Turner at New York University (NYU, USA). In 2016 she joined the Biophysics and ultra-rapid dynamics team at the Institut de chimie physique des matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS, Strasbourg, France). Since 2019, she is a senior research scientist in Adachi group at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). Currently, her primary research interests are in ultrafast dynamics and molecular processes.
