McArdell
Brian McARDELL is head of the debris flow research group at the Swiss Federal Federal Research Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research. He holds a PhD from the Johns Hopkins University, where he worked on sediment transport problems in mountain rivers. Current activities include interdisciplinary field and laboratory investigations of sediment movement in steep channels and slopes, with an emphasis on using the results to evaluate debris flow propagation models and develop new computational tools to support practitioners working on applied debris flow problems. He has been a lecturer at the CERG since 2002.
