Khalil obtained his bachelor in mathematics from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse and his master's degree in random modeling (Ex DEA laure Elie) from the University of Paris. In 2023, he started a thesis in statistical machine learning at the University of Geneva under the supervision of Sylvain Sardy.

His field of research focuses on: game theory, statistics, machine learning, optimization, feature selection and sparsity.
