Human Resources Strategy at the University of Geneva
Version en français
The Human Resources Strategy at the University of Geneva (UNIGE), focused on excellence, professional development, and the creation of a caring and inclusive work environment, aims to strengthen human resources management in alignment with institutional goals.
It improve working conditions at UNIGE, address precarious situations, and provide a smooth and dynamic administrative management that takes into account the complexity of roles and statuses within the UNIGE personnel while offering a consistent framework to all its entities.
The strategy synthesizes 28 objectives grouped around 4 strategic axes:
- Defining a strong common managerial culture;
- Developing a caring, stimulating, and inclusive work environment;
- Promoting and valorizing HR management in service of users;
- Supporting talent and career development.
UNIGE is committed to promoting managerial practices based on loyalty, institutional pride, zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior, and commitment to the general interest. This strategy aims at clear objectives such as conflict prevention and skill development. It also aims to identify and retain talents to develop its missions in terms of nurturing future leaders, promoting commitment and responsibility, and supporting the adaptability of human capital management in academic institutions.
The development of this strategy followed a rigorous process initiated after the extended audit of the State of Geneva applied to PAT in 2019.
After several iterations, it was validated by various institutional bodies – the Strategic Orientation Commission, Rectorate, Deans, Personnel Commission, and University Assembly – and published in a Directive in the memento.
