Dr Xu Yan
Former collaborator - Visiting Scholar - China Scholarship Council Fellow
I am a visiting scholar in Biogeochemistry and Ecotoxicology in the Department F.-A. Forel, engaged in the research on environmental behavior of bacterial resistance at the University of Geneva. At present, my research interests include (1) the stress mechanism of bacterial resistance under sub-lethal concentration of heavy metals, (2) traceability and risk assessment of pathogenic bacteria in aquatic environment, and (3) the relationship between antibiotic resistance and human health. Currently, I am focused on oxidative stress as a mediator of bacterial resistance development towards antibiotics in the presence of sublethal levels of heavy metals.
