Master's thesis

Subject: Strategies for establishing fortified sites in Corsica from the Early Bronze Age to the Late Bronze Age (2200–1200 BC)

This master's thesis was supervised by Prof. Marie Besse (University of Geneva) and Dr. Kewin Peche-Quilichini (University of Montpellier).  Through the analysis of 86 fortified sites, it identifies the geographical, geomorphological and social factors influencing their location. A GIS approach revealed that security and visibility were major criteria.
