Danuta Sosnowska
Software scientist, Astrophysics department UNIGE
Danuta Sosnowska studied Computer Science across two universities: she completed her Bachelor’s degree (1993) and PhD (2000) at the University of Geneva, and her Master’s degree (1995) at the University of Warsaw.
A few months before completing her PhD, she learned that the Geneva Observatory was looking for a computer scientist for a three-year instrumentation project. Danuta was hired to develop software for observation preparation. Additional projects at the observatory followed, and since 2010 she has been developing libraries for spectroscopic data reduction.
