Prof. Adrien Leleu

Assistant Professor

Department of Astronomy

Adrien Leleu obtained his PhD in science in September 2016 from the Université Pierre-et-Marie-Curie, Paris VI (now Sorbonne University). A specialist in exoplanets, he is world-renowned for his work, which combines in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of multi-planetary systems with innovative analysis of high-precision data from space missions based on machine learning methods. His work has led to the detection of planetary systems with astonishing properties that had previously eluded exoplanet researchers. He is the author of a number of highly acclaimed scientific publications, as well as numerous review papers at international conferences.
After completing his thesis at the Paris Institute of Astrophysics, Adrien Leleu joined Switzerland as a Fellow of the CHEOPS space mission, as part of the "PlanetS" National Centre of Competence in Research, first at the University of Berne, then in the Astronomy Department at UNIGE.
In 2022, he was awarded a Starting Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. Following this grant, Adrien Leleu was appointed Assistant Professor in the Astronomy Department on June 1, 2023, where he would develop cutting-edge research in his field, in partnership with the University's Computer Science Department.
