Colantoni Lavinia

 

 

 

Lavinia Colantoni is a visiting Ph.D. researcher in Sociology and Social Sciences at the University of Geneva (Institute for Environmental Sciences and Institut de Gouvernance de l’Environnement et Développement Territorial) and her research interests primarily focuses on institutional and political communication of sustainability and sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on urban sustainability communication.

In addition to her current role, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from Università degli Studi Roma Tre during which she participated in the Erasmus+ Program at the Université de Bordeaux. She furthered her studies by completing a Master’s Degree in International Relations at the Alma Mater Studiorum-Università di Bologna, followed by a Master’s in Diplomatic Studies.

Aside from her studies, Lavinia worked with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Embassy in France, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, several NGOs and she is currently engaged in projects with the Municipality of Brescia and On-Impresa Sociale, a consulting firm.

 

Thesis

 

Research interests

Her research interests lie at the intersection of sustainability communication and governance, particularly examining the effectiveness of institutional efforts to inform citizens about the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Her research project aims to model the factors influencing institutional sustainability communication in urban settings, ranging from local governments to citizens.
