Title : Principles and promises of AI
Speaker : Prof. François Fleuret (UniGE)
Abstract: This talk is an introduction to the methods and applications of modern Artificial Intelligence. We will first see how those methods can learn from data and how their performance directly relate to computational capabilities, and then go through their capabilities, weaknesses and application domains.
To encourage informal discussions and networking, the seminar will be preceded by coffee and snacks starting at 10:30, in the ground floor hall (RdC) of Battelle A (30m from the seminar room), offering participants the opportunity to meet each other ahead of the talk.
The seminar is open to faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, students, and staff from all disciplines with an interest in AI, broadly defined.
