Abreu Professor in Law and Innovation at Catolica Global School of Law - Portugal

Giuseppe Mazziotti is Abreu Professor in Law and Innovation at Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, Catolica Global School of Law, in Lisbon. He is an academic and a legal counsel specializing in intellectual property, EU law, media regulation and cultural policies. He taught intellectual property law at Trinity College Dublin from October 2014 to December 2022. At Trinity College he was elected Fellow (2020) on the grounds of distinction in research and scholarship and received a Master in Arts (2021, jure officii) for his long-term contribution to College life.

At an earlier stage in his career, he was an Assistant Professor in intellectual property law at the University of Copenhagen (2009-2012) and an Associate Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels (2012-2014).

He practiced law with Nunziante Magrone in Rome as an Associate (2007-2009) and an Of Counsel (2012-2014).

Giuseppe is currently Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the Horizon Europe ‘Fair MusE’ project (Promoting Fairness of the Music Ecosystem in a Platform-Dominated and Post-Pandemic Europe, 2023-2026).
