Why Geneva?

Choose your classes

Most classes at the University of Geneva are taught through French. It is therefore usually necessary to have a good level of French in order to study at UNIGE.


Study in French:

You wish to take classes taught through French and have a level B2

You wish to take classes taught through French and need to improve your French to reach level B2

  • Before the start of the autumn semester, you can take summer classes at UNIGE (discount for exchange students)
  • During the semester, you can take French classes for credit at the UNIGE Ecole de langue et de civilisation françaises. These classes can be combined with classes in other UNIGE faculties.
  • Satisfy the Admission Conditions


Study in English - Regular Courses

Some UNIGE classes are taught through English.
