Field of research and activities
Lionel Pernet is an archaeologist and specialist in the Iron Age and Roman period. He obtained a PhD in archaeology from the Universities of Lausanne and Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. He has worked at the National Museum in Zurich and in Montpellier, where he directed the archaeological site and the Lattara Museum (2009-2015). He has been director of the Cantonal Museum of Archaeology and History in Lausanne since 2015. His interests and research also focus on the history of museum collections and anthropological perspectives on material culture.
Publications
Lionel Pernet's publications focus on the Iron Age and Roman necropolis of Giubiasco, Gallic mercenaries and auxiliaries, the Roman necropolis of Lattes, and articles on museum collections.
