Registration for teaching/examination

Students regularly enrolled in Masters courses

  • Students are informed of the opening of the portal and the procedure to follow by means of a message sent to the institutional e-mail address (University address). Enrolment in a course serves as enrolment for the examination. Students register for courses/examinations online on the UNIGE portal in accordance with the GSI academic calendar. Registration for the autumn and spring semester courses/examinations takes place several weeks after the beginning of the courses. Registration for the annual courses takes place in the autumn semester.
     
  • The Moodle platform is a tool reserved solely for teaching and can under no circumstances be used to register for teaching/examinations.
     
  • Only the entries made on the UNIGE portal are valid.

Enrolment in off-cursus courses

  • Students in BARI and the various Masters of the GSI wishing to enrol in courses outside their studies must take the following steps :
    > students fill in a form available at this address and send it to the to the GSI Student Secretariat within the set time limits.
     
  • The courses followed outside the student's own curriculum are not taken into account in any way in the curriculum and cannot under any circumstances be repatriated within it.

Study arrangements for high-level athletes and established artists

If you wish to request special study arrangements because you are a high-level athlete or established artist, you must read the information about the “Talents pluriels” program and submit your request according to the procedure and deadlines.

Study arrangements (e.g. part-time study)

If you wish to request adjustments to your studies (e.g. part-time study) for reasons such as health, maternity, significant professional activity or heavy family responsibilities, please refer to the article of the study regulations applicable to you and consult your academic advisor as soon as possible.

Exam arrangements for health reasons

If you wish to request special arrangements for the January/February, May/June and/or August/September exam sessions, as well as for assessments outside of the exam sessions for health reasons, please read 

  • the information available on the UNIGE Student Health Service website, which specifies the procedure to follow and the deadlines to be met when submitting a request for exam adjustments. (PLEASE NOTE: the deadlines set by the Student Health Service for completing your application must be strictly adhered to;
  • the GSI Directive.

  • Transcripts are published on the student portal at the end of the examination sessions. Only original transcripts including a decision of success or failure from the Institute are sent to the student's postal address.
     
  • However, students may request an original transcript including a decision of ‘Current cycle of studies’. They must submit a request using the ‘Request for an original transcript’ form.
     
  • A certified copy of the original can be obtained by sending a written request to the GSI Student Office : secretariat-etugsi(at)unige.ch
