Consultation session with Doris Leuthard, International Geneva and academic experts on the emerging recommendations of the UN Secretary-General’s High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation at the University of Geneva on May 10, 2019

The University of Geneva hosted an expert consultation and feedback session on May 10 jointly with the UN High Level Panel on Digital Cooperation appointed by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres to advance a dialogue on strengthening international cooperation in the digital age. The event offered an opportunity to discuss the upcoming recommendations that will be released on June 10, with Doris Leuthard (former president of Switzerland) who is a member of the High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation, Ambassador Amandeep Gill (Executive Director & Co-Lead of the Secretariat of the Panel), members of the international Geneva diplomatic community and digital policy experts from the University of Geneva and from other institutions. Director-General of the UN Offices in Geneva, Michael Møller, delivered the closing address. The event reflects the very privileged position of Geneva and of Switzerland in the global digital policy ecosystem to which the University of Geneva actively contributes. The University's digital strategy aims to establish the University as a centre of expertise and innovation on digital transformation at the service of society and to contribute actively to the societal debates on digital technology and the challenges it poses.
