InZone Webinar Series

In 2023, InZone launched a Webinar Series designed and offered exclusively to refugee populations.

The series comprises live talks delivered by academic experts covering a range of topics pertaining to the Sciences and Humanities.

The presentations are designed for refugee audiences attending at InZone’s learning centres (in Azraq camp, Jordan, Kakuma camp, Kenya, and Niamey, Niger) or following the live streaming of the event.

Simultaneous interpretation in French is available through the generous support of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Geneva.

The first InZone Webinar featured the Nobel Prize astrophysicist Michel Mayor and his talk on “Other worlds in the cosmos?”

Prof. Michel Mayor is an Emeritus Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Geneva's Department of Astronomy, and co-laureate of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics. His presentation focused on the existence of life elsewhere in the Universe: the fascinating search for planets similar to our Earth and... perhaps harbouring Life!

The second edition " Introduction to Economics" was given by Prof. Jeremy Laurent-Luchetti of the Geneva School of Economics and Management of the Uiversity of Geneva.
