Yafei Sun received a PhD degree from Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China. His research interests include numerical partial differential equations, optimization techniques, and mathematical methods applied in engineering.

After UNIGE, Yafei returned to China to take up a position as a Lecturer in the Department of Computational Mathematics, School of Mathematics, at Jilin University, located in Changchun, Jilin Province, China.
