Vincent Vargas
Vincent Vargas is a French mathematician and Associate Professor at the University of Geneva. He earned his PhD in mathematics from Université Paris-Diderot under the supervision of Francis Comets. After holding a research position at the CNRS, he joined the University of Geneva in 2021.
His research focuses primarily on Gaussian multiplicative chaos and Liouville quantum gravity, where he notably contributed to a rigorous probabilistic construction of Liouville field theory and the proof of the DOZZ formula. His work has been the subject of a feature article in Quanta Magazine..
Vincent Vargas is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Marc Yor Prize (2019) and the George Pólya Prize (2022).
