Toso Christian
After graduating from the University of Geneva in 1997, I underwent a dual clinical and scientific parallel training. It included rotations from Geneva to various Swiss hospitals to become a board-certified abdominal surgeon. I also performed a fellowship in liver, pancreas and transplant surgery at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Currently, I am the chief of the Division of abdominal surgery at the University of Geneva.
My research track, first exposed me to the field of pancreatic islet transplantation, spending two full years in the laboratory in Geneva, followed, in 2008, by a PhD in immunology and surgical research at the University of Alberta. In 2009, I came back in Geneva with Swiss National Science Foundation SCORE (Swiss Clinicians Opting for Research) and Professorship supports. They allowed me establishing my group and my line of research on liver cancer using translational explorations.
