Research

Our research interest is focused on organometallic chemistry and synthesis of heterometallic complexes based on earth abundant metals, as well as their use for activation of thermally stable bonds to promote formation of new chemical bonds towards the synthesis of valuable products. Upcycling materials coming from the silicone waste stream and converting them into useful molecules constitute a synthetic challenge for chemists. Our group aims to design heterometallic systems based on earth abundant metals with tuneable properties and exploit synergetic effects for bond cleavage and formation of new chemical bonds. Rationalisation of the reaction mechanisms and fundamental understanding of these transformations is crucial for us to design catalytically relevant systems.
