Students Rewarded During the SCS Fall Meeting 25
Congratulations to our students who were recognized for the quality of their presentations at the annual fall meeting of the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS), held on September 4, 2025, at the University of Zurich.
Robin Nussbaum, a doctoral student in Prof. Eric Bakker's group in the Department of Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry, received the award for best oral presentation in analytical chemistry.
His presentation was entitled “Development, Characterization, and Field Assessment of a Submersible Dual-Readout Electrochemical pH Sensor for In Situ Environmental Monitoring.”
Owen Kanisius, a doctoral student in Prof. Michel Rickhaus's group in the Department of Organic Chemistry, received the award for best oral presentation in organic chemistry.
His presentation was entitled “Exploring communication between different pi systems through a metal center.”
Luis Llanes Montesino, a doctoral student in Prof. Thomas Bürgi's group in the Department of Physical Chemistry, received the award for best poster in physical chemistry.
His poster was entitled “Illuminating Complexity: Photophysics in Au25 atomically precise nanoclusters.”
Nerea Gonzalez Sanchis, PhD student in Prof. Stefan Matile group, Department of Organic Chemistry, receives the award for the second best poster in organic chemistry.
Her poster was entitled “Engineering Flipper Probes for Enhanced Membrane Anchoring via Peptide and Lipid Modifications.”
