Hackademia
This is a hackathon open to the entire university community. The aim is to come together to work collaboratively and interdisciplinarily on digital projects that can transform the institution. People themselves propose their ideas for innovative solutions, and during the hackathon, teams create a prototype that will be developed and used to improve the University's services.

Projects are evaluated and then published online. These projects receive financial support and institutional promotion.

JNR
Responsible Digital Day is a public event designed to encourage institutions to make a responsible transition. Digital technology accounts for 4% of CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to the emissions of global civil aviation. But another kind of digital technology is possible. During this day, you can participate in workshops and conferences, meet experts, and engage with local stakeholders. It's the best way to learn more and get involved in a way that suits you. This event is being held simultaneously at UNIGE, HES-SO, the Graduate Institute and the State of Geneva.
Generative AI
Generative Artificial Intelligence is considered a tool. Using it can have many advantages, although misuse can have consequences. As such, its use is permitted at the University of Geneva, provided that specific guidelines are followed. An AI policy has been published on this subject. In addition, a guide to best practices and information on how the technology works has been published to support the entire university community.
