Admission

Admission and registration procedures

To apply for a doctorate, all candidates must hold a Master's degree from a university and a programme recognised by the UNIGE. In all cases, candidates must have obtained a Master's degree from a university or a qualification deemed equivalent and a programme recognised by the UNIGE. No French exam is required for registration by the Admissions Service. Please check with the faculty/institute/centre to determine the level of requirements.

In general, doctoral enrolment is possible all year round, for a start in one of the two semesters (autumn or spring). Please contact the faculty in question to find out about its specific requirements.

Doctoral candidates must be registered with the University for the duration of their thesis. If you have any questions about registration requirements and procedures, please visit the Admissions Service website.
