Governance & Leadership

The Dean's team is assisted by advisory commissions whose members are appointed for each administrative period.

The School's Commissions are the following:

EQUALITY Commission

President: Professor Tony Berrada

Members: Professor Dorothée Baumann-Pauly, Professor Giuseppe Ugazio, Jérémy Orsat (Ph.D. Student), Claire Ullyett (PAT representative).

The Equality Commission is a permanent commission. It meets at least three times a year.

Mandate

The mandate of the Equality Commission is to:

  • Promote and support projects and initiatives in favor of equality between women and men
  • Encourage and support any initiative and project that promotes a change of mentality towards equality between women and men
  • Identify the problems that hinder women's academic progress and suggest actions to solve them
  • Support potential candidates for an academic career
  • Relay any information concerning the promotion of women's academic careers at the University.


ACADEMIC PLANNING Commission

President: Professor Markus Menz

The Academic Planning Commission is a permanent commission.

Mandate

The mandate of the Academic Planning Commission is to define the areas of teaching and research to maintain, and to determine the axes to develop, taking into account the objectives set out in the University's strategic plan.


IT Commission

President: Professor Dimitri Konstantas

Members: Dr. Oumaima Ajmi, Eric Dicuonzo, Beatriz Iglesias.

The IT Commission is a permanent commission. It meets at least four times a year.

Mandate

The mandate of the IT Commission is to:

  • Develop the School's policy on information and communication technologies (ICT)
  • Advise the Dean's Team regarding ICT
  • Review medium- and long-term needs in this area so that they can be integrated into the School's plans and, more broadly, into the University's overall plans
  • Manage the IT infrastructure within the School in accordance with UNIGE policy
  • Coordinate the activities of IT services and IT correspondents
  • Ensure the liaison between the Commission informatique de l'UNIGE and the School in the field of ICT


FIRST RENEWAL Commission

President: Professor Markus Menz

Members: Professor Olivier Scaillet,  Professor Monika Mrázová, Professor Marcel Paulssen, Professor Stefan SperlichProfessor Christine Kaddous (Faculty of Law), Dr. Samuel Orso, Tiburce Pégatoquet (student).

The First Renewal Commission is a permanent commission.

Mandate

The First Renewal Commission is responsible for examining the first renewal of the terms of the office of faculty, as well as teaching and research collaborators.


RENEWAL Commission

The Renewal Commission is responsible for reviewing subsequent renewals.


opposition COMMISSION (RIO)

The RIO Opposition Commission is currently composed of four professors.

The RIO Opposition Commission is a permanent commission.

The Commission meets a few times a year, as required, in particular after the exam sessions.

Mandate

The RIO Opposition Commission is in charge of dealing with student opposition. Its members are appointed by the Faculty Council, based on a proposal from the Dean's team.

The competencies of the Commission are defined by the regulations relating to the opposition procedure within the University (RIO-UNIGE). For more information, consult the UNIGE regulations webpage (in French).
