How to Conduct Business and Human Rights Research in 2026 – Making the Case For Relevance and Rigor 

Dorothée Baumann-Pauly, GSEM Professor and Director of the Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights stresses the importance of strengthening research practices in light of declining reliability in official human rights data. She emphasizes the need for deeper stakeholder engagement, increased field research, and critical assessment of existing datasets.
