The Barnes Then and Now - Reflections on Installation ( Saturday, September 10, 5pm - 6pm GVA time)

The Barnes Then and Now conversation series brings together scholars and cultural leaders to reflect on the state of the Barnes 100 years after our founding.

In this talk, art historian Dario Gamboni joins Martha Lucy, Barnes deputy director for research, interpretation and education, for a candid discussion exploring the collection’s famously quirky ensembles. What was Dr. Barnes’s intention when he designed his unconventional groupings in the 1920s and ’30s? What stories do they tell, and how do we experience them now, 100 years later? Moderated by museums scholar Monique Scott.

Registration for online tickets is required.
