Yannick Romain Konan is currently serving as an assistant professor at Alassane Ouattara University (UAO-Bouaké), located in the central region of Côte d'Ivoire. At this institution, he has dedicated his research to the study of Baoulé-Kodé, a language within the Kwa branch of the Niger-Congo language family. His scholarly interests lie at the intersection of phonology, phonetics, and syntax, areas in which he has made significant contributions to the understanding of this language.

In February 2018, he embarked on a specialized certificate program in linguistics at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Geneva, marking the beginning of his focused academic journey in the field.
In April 2018, he was formally enrolled in the doctoral program at Department of Linguistics of the University of Geneva, further solidifying his commitment to advancing his expertise.
By October 2019, he successfully defended his certificate in linguistics, under the guidance of his supervisor, Professor Genoveva Puskas.
In December 2019, he completed the defense of his doctoral thesis, again under the mentorship of Professor Puskas, culminating in the successful achievement of his doctoral degree.
Throughout his academic path, he has developed a refined understanding of his field, continuing to contribute meaningfully to the discourse surrounding African linguistics, particularly with regard to the phonological and syntactic complexities of the Baoulé-Kodé language.
