Upon my departure

Your departure date has arrived!

Your property manager is preparing the file for your check-out inspection, together with your check-in inspection report, the bank guarantee release form (stamped), as well as your administrative file.

She will contact you to set the date and time of the check-out inspection.

📮 Change of address

Please remember to update your address with the Post Office before your departure.

Please complete and sign the notice of termination

then send it by email to the property manager responsible for your residence, respecting a one-month notice period, effective at the end of a calendar month.

On the day of your departure, a check-out inspection will be carried out in your presence by residence manager, at the agreed time.

This inspection is conducted based on the inventory report completed upon your arrival.

🏢 Common areas (if you are in shared accommodation)

  • You are jointly responsible for the cleanliness of shared spaces at the time of the inspection.
  • Empty and clean your personal cupboard, if applicable.

🛏️ Accommodation (room / studio)

  • Remove all personal belongings.
  • Return furniture to their original position.
  • Dust and clean all furniture.
  • Vacuum and/or wash the floors.
  • Clean windows (inside and outside).
  • Remove stickers, tape, and any wall fixings.

🚿 Bathroom / Sanitary facilities

  • Thoroughly clean: toilet, sink, taps, shower, tiles, and floors.

🍽️ Kitchen

  • Defrost and clean the refrigerator and freezer.
  • Clean your personal cupboard.

📦 Other

  • Empty the cellar/storage unit of all personal belongings.
  • Remove your name from the mailbox.

🚛 Bulky waste & furniture disposal

To dispose of furniture or bulky items, please contact your municipal waste collection service:

  • City of Geneva: online appointment booking
  • Carouge: online appointment booking
  • Vernier: contact the municipality
  • Thônex: collection every Thursday morning

⚠️ Illegal dumping is subject to a fine.

 

Compliance with these instructions ensures a smooth check-out inspection and allows for the prompt return of your bank guarantee.

At the end of your lease, during the check-out inspection, your property manager will inspect the condition of the accommodation and complete the bank guarantee release form with you.

Three situations may occur:

🟢 Everything is in order

  • No damage, no charges.
  • Your bank guarantee is returned in full.

🟠 Partial retention

  • Some costs are charged to you (cleaning, repairs, etc.).
  • Part of the bank guarantee is paid to BLOG, and the remaining balance is refunded to you.

🔴 Full retention

  • If the costs equal or exceed the amount of the guarantee, the guarantee is paid in full to the BLOG and you will be invoiced the difference.
