Prix Edouard Gans 2025 – Pedro Torres Giesteira et Laure Velenik

Pedro Torres Giesteira completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the Mathematics Section at the University of Geneva. His Master’s thesis, entitled “The Euclidean ϕ42 field theory as a limit of an interacting trapped Bose gas,” was supervised by Antti Knowles, Cristina Caraci, and Alessio Ranallo.

Since September 2025, he has been pursuing a PhD at UNIGE under the supervision of Prof. Antti  Knowles.

Laure Velenik completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the Mathematics Section at the University of Geneva. Her Master’s thesis, entitled "An iterative-bijective approach to asymmetric generalizations of Schur’s theorem,” was supervised by Prof. Jehanne Dousse and focused on combinatorics, in particular on integer partitions.

Since September 2025, Laure has been pursuing a PhD in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Geneva, under the supervision of Prof. Karine Altisen. Her doctoral research focuses on the verification of distributed algorithms using proof assistants such as Coq and Lean.
