Opening Symposium Synapsy Centre EPFL

From 2010 to 2022, researchers and psychiatrists of the Swiss National Centre Competence in Research NCCR-Synapsy have joined forces to study the biological basis of psychiatric disorders. After 12 years of fruitful collaborations, the NCCR Synapsy has become the Synapsy Network, a network of three faculty Centers based at the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne, as well as at EPFL – the UNIGE Synapsy Centre for Neuroscience and Mental Health Research, the UNIL/CHUV Synapsy Center and the EPFL Synapsy Center for Neuroscience and Mental Health.

The EPFL Synapsy Center for Neuroscience and Mental Health Research integrates all mental health-related research at EPFL, and serves as a central node to connect researchers, students, interested stakeholders and the public at large. The mission of the EPFL Synapsy center is to promote mental health research and raise its awareness at EPFL and beyond.

On October 11th, the EPFL Synapsy Center will hold its Inaugural Symposium. This half-day event will feature EPFL speakers performing research related to mental health, as well as two external speakers– Michael D. Fox from Harvard University and Klaas Enno Stephan from the University of Zurich /ETHZ – around the topic of “Where Neuroscience meets mental health”.

This symposium is free and open to all, but targeted mainly to researchers and an informed public.

The UNIGE Synapsy Centre for Neuroscience and Mental Health Research encourages its members to attend :  to learn about the research at the EPFL Synapsy Center and to consolidate the connections between the members of our Synapsy Network.
