Laurent Miéville, Director
Trained as Engineer with a PhD in physics (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology-EPFL and University of Geneva), he continues his carreer in the USA (Stanford University then Conductus Inc, young start-up based in Silicon Valley) where he is also involved in evaluating the commercial potential of new technologies for a venture capital firm. He comes back to Switzerland to initiate and manage Unitec, the office of technology transfer.
Laurent Miéville was from 2007 to 2009 President the Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals - ASTP, which groups more than 600 professionals active in 32 countries. He is one of the first technology transfer professionals to be certified at an international level and he is a board member of its certifying body, CLP Inc.. He recently co-authored with Georges Haour of IMD a book about technology transfer.

Raluca Flukiger, Licensing Officer
After studying at the University of Geneva and Northwestern University (Chicago, USA), Raluca Flükiger received a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Geneva. She then moved to London (UK), where she was a professional editor on the scientific journal Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology and simultaneously acted as scientific advisor for Sectoral Asset Management, an asset management firm specialized in the pharma/biotech industry.
In 2003, Raluca joined the Unitec office, where she commercializes technologies in the life sciences. In parallel, she teaches biochemistry at the University of Geneva. Certified Licensing Professional (CLP™) since 2010, Raluca is member of the Swiss technology transfer association swiTT and serves on the jury of Venturekick which provides early-stage funding for Swiss start-ups.

Matthias Kuhn, Licensing Officer
Matthias Kuhn holds a Master degree from EPFL in Materials Sciences and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management. After graduating from EPFL he works for 7 years in the fragrance and flavors industry in international sales and marketing. During and after his MBA, he carries numerous mandates for startups in British Columbia and performs projects for the EMEA Marketing division of HP in Germany. He acts as an advisor for the Venture Capital arm of Unilever (Unilever Ventures) in the Netherlands. There, he succeeds in raising finance in the order of EUR 1M for one of his projects.
Matthias is a Licensing Officer at Unitec where he commercializes technologies in the field of physical sciences. With his continued interest for startups, he acts as a coach for Venture (Venture) and for the A3 Angel Mentors Club at EPFL. He is a member of the Swiss Technology Transfer Association (Switt) and sits on the Advisory Board of TechConnect (TechConnect) in the US.

Alan Cookson, Licensing Officer
With over 25 years experience, Alan brings extensive and proven expertise in all aspects of life science technology transfer, including a successful track record in licensing and new business creation. Alan’s career has included 15 years experience in Switzerland, UK and USA with the Serono Group where he held various positions including Vice President , Research and Business Development. Alan was also the founder and CEO of two start-up companies, Optimmune Diagnostics Ltd, and Quantimmune Systems Ltd.

Olivier Deloche, Licensing Officer
Olivier Deloche completed a PhD in Biochemistry on protein folding at the University of Geneva in 1997. Subsequently, he worked in the group of Prof. Randy Schekman (Lasker Award) for 3 years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Berkeley, California in the field of protein transport. In 2000, Olivier was appointed Maître-assistant and then Maître d’Enseignement et de Recherche at the faculty of medicine of Geneva for studying the mechanisms of regulation of protein synthesis.
In 2007, Olivier joined the team of Unitec and completed an interdisciplinary Master in life science law at the faculty of law of Geneva (2008), so acquiring a real expertise on intellectual property, therapeutic and biotechnological laws and commercial law.
Olivier is member of the associations of Swiss and European technology transfer professionals (SwiTT and ASTP) and the Union of the Swiss Societies of Experimental Biology (USGEB).

Chantal Loze, Licensing Officer
Chantal Loze has studied Biology at the University of Geneva. She holds a Master Degree in Physiology and Metabolism for which she obtained the Arditi Award in 2005. In 2007, Chantal joined the team of Unitec. From 2007 to 2012, she was also active for the initiative Alliance (alliance-tt.ch) which is aimed at facilitating the search and identification of academic and clinical partners potentially able to address expressed needs from local SMEs. In 2008, she completed an interdisciplinary Master in life science law at the faculty of law of Geneva, so acquiring a real expertise on intellectual property, biotechnological law and commercial law.
Chantal is a member of the association of Swiss technology transfer professionals (SwiTT) and of the Swiss association of Intellectual Property (AROPI)

Cyrille Catherin, Legal Counsel (30%)
Lawyer with an Advanced Master (Montpellier), a LL.M. (Mainz) and a D.I.P (Concord) in intellectual property and rights. From 1999 to 2003, he developed his competencies at Law firm FBT and at Griffes, Geneva. From 2003 to 2006, he participated at 100% to reinforce the legal competencies of UNITEC and valorized also licensing and technology transfer programs in the domain of neuro and sciences. In addition to his 30% activity at Unitec, he becomes in 2007 Scientific Partner in neurosciences at 70%, where he was until 2010 co-managing director for european research project in informatics and neurosciences and was also the special counsel for management and finances for the new Neuroradiology division at HCUGE and UNIGE.
Cyrille Catherin joined Unitec in May 2003 where he serves as internal support on contracts and legal affairs related to technology transfer.
