Birth of a New Journal – International Water Law
The First Issue of Brill Research Perspectives - International Water Law (IWL) Journal (1.1) has been published in both electronic and paper forms in April 2016. IWL is a quarterly Journal published by Brill. Each issue consists of a single monograph in the range of 25,000 to 45,000 words.
The Journal targets monographs that are deemed too long for a typical journal article, and too short for a book. Thus it is not intended to compete with other water journals; rather, the intention is to supplement their publication work.
The monograph for the First Issue of IWL is authored by Dr. Gotz Reichert, and titled "Transboundary Water Cooperation in Europe - A Successful Multidimensional Regime?"
The Second Issue will be published in June 2016. The monograph for that issue is authored by Renee Martin-Nagle, and deals with "Governance Regime for Offshore Transboundary Aquifers."
The Editor-in-Chief of International Water Law Journal is Dr. Salman M. A. Salman, who is a Fellow with the International Water Resources Association (IWRA). The editorial board consists of Professor Laurence Boisson de Chazournes, Professor Gabriel Eckstein, Professor Lilian del Castillo-Laborde, Dr. Alistair Rieu-Clarke, Professor Makane Moïse Mbengue, and Dr. Kishor Uprety.
