BiodivAR

Biodiversity is an abstract concept difficult to grasp. However, it is in danger and it is essential to talk about it. So how can we teach it to children?

In collaboration with the Haute École d'Ingénierie et de Gestion du canton de Vaud (HEIG-Vaud) and Catherine Audrin, the members of the IDEA team, Emmanuel Sander and Laura León, aim to develop an augmented reality app to explain biodiversity and its issues.

Part of the NRP 77 program launched by the SNF, the BiodivAR project is multidisciplinary and has several objectives: the improvement of the design, development and use of technologies in educational practice, in particular of Mobile Augmented Reality, and the development of effective teaching strategies adapted to biodiversity learning, such as strategies based on metaphors.
