Coming up: Policy business forum on governance innovation for nature-based solutions

Our colleague, Anna Scolobig, is taking part in the organisation of a policy forum on governance innovation for nature-based solutions which will be held from 9 AM - 5 PM on March 24th at the University of Geneva.

There is growing recognition that using nature-based solutions (NBS) can provide viable and cost-effective solutions to a broad range of societal challenges. However, to realize the NBS potential, there is a need to mainstream NBS within national and international governance.  

The aims of this workshop are to better understand the current state of NBS (and related) policies and characterize options for NBS policy transition pathways. Questions that will be addressed include:

• What are the synergies and antagonisms between NBS and related sectors?
• How to foster synergies and limit antagonisms?
• How to mainstream NBS into the DRR policy agenda?
• What are the key arguments against NBS?
• What capacities should be developed to facilitate NBS implementation?

This workshop, first of a series of three, is organised within the framework of the EU-funded project PHUSICOS (Grant agreement No. 776681).
